Dining Experience at the Merchants of Spice Today, 20th March, I made a reservation at this popular Indian restaurant with two friends. Although we were thirty minutes late due to traffic, the restaurant kindly agreed to hold our booking. Since my friends are vegetarians, I decided to join them and opted for a vegetarian dish, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The restaurant had a great staff-to-customer ratio, allowing us to receive our meals promptly. When there was a mix-up with one of the dishes, the staff handled it immediately and professionally. Despite the restaurant being nearly full, the atmosphere remained relaxing, enhanced by the staff's attentiveness without being overbearing. Additionally, the restaurant boasts a spacious car park, making it easy to find a parking spot without any hassle.
Friendly staff, great service and nice curry.
A delicious meal with friends Highly recommend.
Great welcome and lovely chat to staff while waiting for our takeaway. Vegan curry for me and railway lamb curry for my partner. 100% recommend
Wow. Wow. Wow. It’s very rarely that I’m fully impressed by a restaurant, but Merchants of Spice on Yarmouth Rd went above and beyond. I ordered for a group of 7. Starters and mains, and also sides. Absolutely superb!! Their tandoori anything is always succulent and flavourful. However, the modest but powerful Tarka Daal was the star of the show! I even mixed some lime pickle on with it and that was an absolute game changer! You just have to try! The wait staff are exceedingly attentive without being intrusive. They even secretly stored a birthday cake for our table. Eat in or takeaway, they’re always superb! Can’t wait to go back and visit this new favourite!
The food was incredible, we ate the chicken tikka masala and the railway lamb curry, both were very good. The lamb samosas, tandoori chicken and the shish kebab were also very delicious. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. If you're looking for a good Indian restaurant in Norwich I would highly recommend this place.
As a converted pub this venue does not have the elegance of the Norwich City one, but the food is fantastic, thecstaff attentive but not intrusive. I was surprised to see how busy it was at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. Well worth a visit.
By far the best Indian restaurant in Norfolk outstanding customer service, lovely atmosphere, amazing authentic food, great prices, what more could you want? book a table, you won’t be disappointed. Best lamb sag & chicken tikka masala I’ve ever had!! perfect for any occasion
